The Start-Up Edition contains three free licenses. What happens if I need a fourth one?
The Start-Up Edition is a fixed bundle that can not be extended with additional licenses.
Of course you can transfer your data and switch to an Enterprise Edition at any time.

I am currently using the Groupion Community Edition / Start-Up Edition, but I would like to use iXML to customize my platform. Can I activate iXML for a single user only?
No. Since iXML is a highly integrated feature of Groupion, you can only activate it for the whole platform.
To do this, you have to switch to the Enterprise Edition.

Can I combine the different editions in any way?
No. Every edition is a license of its own. You can not combine different licenses on a single platform.

I have many users who only need access to read data from my Groupion platform. Do I need a license for these users?
No. You only need a valid license if a user becomes active in a packge, i.e. needs writing rights for a package.

How does the Groupion license model work?
When subscribing Groupion, you do not actually buy a software product, but you rather rent the packages that you need. This way you do not pay for owning Groupion, but for using it. You can always adapt your platform according to your needs.

What is Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)?
As the name indicates, SaaS is a new aproach towards software. Instead of paying up front for a software product, you can rent
the software on a monthly basis. You can use the platform directly within your standard web-browser. There is no need to
install any components on your computer. This way you do not face high initial investments for infrastructure and setup.

Can I extend my license with additional users?
Yes. You can always extend your license and add new users to your platform. You can either use the license management
tool in the administration package of your platform, or you can contact our sales team to purchase additional user licenses.

How do I pay for my platform? What modes of payment can I choose from?
Payments will be handled via PayPal. Using PayPal you can pay through direct debit, Visa or Mastercard.
You do NOT need to create a PayPal account. You can handle payments directly in the Groupion customer portal.

Do I need to pay taxes for my Groupion platform?What rules apply for international customers?
Within Germany the regular VAT applies. Customers from outside Germany do not have to pay any additional taxes or fees.

Which web-browser are supported?
Groupion supports the following web-browser: Mozilla Firefox (from Version 1.5);
Microsoft Internet Explorer (from Version 7.0); Apple Safari (from Version 2.0);

What requirements must my server fulfil to run Groupion?
You need a PHP5 runtime environment as well as a database system. Supported database systems are
MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MS SQL. To use email features, you need a mail server that
can be accesses via POP3 or IMAP.

I want to deploy Groupion On-Site. Can I order a CD with the required files?
No. You can only download the Groupion setup filed from our homepage.

How do I get access to my personal platform?
After you subscribed to Groupion successfully, you will receive the access data for your administration account via email.

How long will it take until I receive my access data?
Usually, you will receive the access data within one working day after you submit your order.

Is it hard to setup Groupion? Do I need any prior knowledge?
If the infrastructure is set up properly, it is a matter of minutes to setup Groupion. Simply follow the 5 step setup
process in the webbrowser.
On the other side, administration of a web-server is a more advanced task and requires knowledge.
If you do not have any experience with the administration of web-servers, we recommend the on-demand solution
of Groupion.

Which additional components do I have to setup on my webserver to run Groupion?
In order to use all features of Groupion, you need a PHP5 runtime environment, a database system and a mailserver.

How often will you update Groupion?
Usually a new version of Groupion will be availabe every 2 or 3 months. Updates will fix bugs and provide your platform with new features.

Do I have to adapt my iXML services when I deploy a new version of Groupion?
No. iXML services and extendions are independet from the version of your platform and will not be affected in any way.
Therefore you do not need to adapt them.
